Hailing from the UK John was raised on the move, with the only constant being his grannies home in Tongue, on the north Coast of Scotland. Born into a musical family, John was raised by his dad, who balanced life between working as a consulting engineer and writing songs.
With musical influences ranging from Nat King Cole, to Jimi Hendrix, to Rage Against the Machine, John’s style and sound is a unique and hypnotic mash of folk, rock and roots reggae.
A self-taught guitar player, John wrote his first songs playing in a local heavy rock band. When freedom came calling, John made the drastic decision to go solo with only his acoustic guitar Grace, for company and support.
In 2017, he released his debut album “Mountains (Live)” and hit the road. In 2020, he followed it up with his 2nd full length record titled “Chasing My Grace” and a string of singles, only to face desperate times due to the fallouts of the pandemic.
John is set to begin celebrating the come-back of music in style, with the highly anticipated release of one of the best singles of his career, titled ‘Sun Drunk’ - produced by Sony producer Adrian Breakspear.
A man of many miles, John has played close to 3000 shows across countless cities, spanning several countries. He has developed a stagecraft that was cultivated through years of expressiveness, exploration and creativity, bringing each show authenticity and true connection.
